FAQ
Coaching versus Therapy
In therapy, we explore the past, and perhaps the subconscious, and how it affects us. In coaching, we are focusing on the future, goals, behavior change, and talking through what mind-body-spirit health means for you. We are co-creating this process together. I am serving as a mirror to help you achieve/seek optimal wellness through tools like self-compassion, identifying values, and powerful questioning. You will be leading the way, I am here as a non-judgmental ally and cheerleader.
What is a healing presence?
In order to best support you, I work hard to develop a conscious, mindfulness practice in my own daily life, to ensure that I am able to be present for you in our sessions. I encourage all my clients to develop a mindfulness practice, however small, in their own lives — so we can optimize our time together and continue to best support others by first taking care of ourselves.
What if I'm looking for specific advice on one area of my health?
I am coming from an integrative and holistic approach, and I am happy to provide other resources if you want a deep dive into nutrition for example, but I won't be giving you recommendations myself. In general, I will not be providing recommendations or “advice” unless directly asked in which I can certainly refer and guide.
What if I don’t have a specific health goal in mind?
That is very much okay and encouraged! Every aspect of our lives affects our health and wellbeing, and we can work on various topics throughout our time together — including relational, familial, professional goals, and or physical.
